Overview

Located in the basement of the grade II listed Earl Grey House on the prestigious Grey St in the heart of the City centre, the building has served as many things and has a chequered history. Built in 1837 as part of the Grainger Town regeneration it has gone through several alterations from a department store to tea rooms and in its last guise from 1982 as “Legends”, a notorious venue where you could find the paparazzi snapping footballers falling out of its doors in the early hours. Finally as a predominantly student nightclub, closing its doors for the last time in 2013. The works to transform the space were extensive and extremely complicated, taking around 18 months.

Stepping through the discreet doorway under the canopy opposite the grand Theatre Royal, a rich timber lined entrance area takes you down a festoon lit walkway to the bar lounge area and auditoriums. The cinema features 4 varying size auditoriums from an intimate 37 seater up to a larger 80 seater, each differing in style.
